Valentino for Gap *dies a gazillion times!!*

I wish!! I wish!! I wishhhh!!
Even if it meant sleeping outside the Milan store all night, I wish I could go in before every one and pick up all the pieces!! Valentino's Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have created a capsule collection for Gap to inaugurate it's first flagship store in Italy...
Talk about getting high-end at high street!

American Sportswear at it's best... Typical Valentino ruffles and bows...infact, excess of it, on khaki cargo pants keeping up with the military trend of the season... with the classic t shirt... heavy jackets with dramatic frills...And utilitarian? YES!

I WANT IT ALL!!

It's like all of Valentino's elements in a seven piece collection.
Watch this space for more on this news soon!

I (Heart) Lanvin (Hearts) H&M!! Fun on the Run(Way)

Alber Elbaz of Lanvin is not your typical designer. While we see one runway show after featuring edge, and high fashion meets oh-so-whip in the hand type of collections, last night at NYC's Pierre Hotel we had a shot of "Fresh"... Like *dies*
Although I'm not a fan of neon and clashing prints, Lanvin (hearts) H&M kinda got to me. I saw the first few pictures and thought, "Ew. Just 'cause the clothes have to be cheaper they're so trashy". But then (as I saw the poodle) and then the intricacy of the jewelery to the clever clever styling.... I actually got myself to like it! I liked the make-up too!
It is one of the few collaborations in the recent years which is said to have an actual impact.

Don't Kill me. Please!

I think i just died.

Super Tulle!

The beautiful runway! (Is it Christmas already?? O.O)

From Super-Tulle to beaver hats! And I *adored*the animal print leggings! And fish net stockings? Really?? You might have missed it but I actually think there are some fantastically draped pieces in this collection. And apparently it was one hell of a show... The models danced had fun on the walk, while the audience clapped... Anna Dello Russo with the poodle was the icing on the cake! Although it's not your typical Lanvin, it is NOT for the faint hearted.

Tom Ford's Vintage Couture Show *imagines* plus Burberry Bespoke's debut!

Tom Ford... The most awaited comebacks of the year... And he did it in style! No press, No reviews of the collection, no live coverage... AND YET! He managed to get full publicity of the whole event- which btw, was just a bunch of his close friends and a private fashion show in *wait for it* old world style!
Talk about going back to the beginning of high street! He introduced each model and described each garment just like in the old days.. I'm talking about the 60's... He sure did bring back the magic and charm which fashion held in those days... Too bad for certain guests in the even who tweeted pictures of the event LIVE...
In an interview with Vogue, Ford said,
I want fashion to be fun again, like it was in the ’60s. You couldn’t wait to get the clothes and put them on, and I think we’ve lost that. I don’t get the need for this immediacy. In fact, I think it’s bad. The way the system works now, you see the clothes, within an hour or so they’re online, the world sees them. They don’t get to a store for six months. In addition, all of the fast-fashion companies that do a great job, by the way, knock everything off. So it’s everywhere all over the streets in three months and by the time you get it to the store, what’s the point?
Well, here's a look at Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2011. These picture will be in next month's Vogue shot by Steven Meisel. All the words which come to my mind when I see them are: classic. luxe. expensive. breathtaking. chic. time-proof. And you know what? All these are words ARE associate with Tom Ford. Kudos to him for bringing Classic back. In a real way!

But no matter what, the goal of a brand is TO SELL. And while most of the designers know and believe only that, there are designers like Tom Ford and Christopher Bailey who hold their own without letting go of their roots...
Speaking of Christopher Bailey, Emma Watson was the first person to actually sport a trench coat from the just-about-to-release Burberry Bespoke collection. Watson received it as a gift from Bailey for the premiere of her new movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. *like dying to watch that movie!!*

Vogue UK says,
Burberry Bespoke will be a new fully integrated, innovative digital platform, enabling the personalisation of the iconic Burberry trench coat.

The Past holds value: Marc Jacobs "Greatest-Hits" and Michael Jackson's Iconic Fashion "On Sale"!

I have been having such a tough week at college with an array of skirts to make with the weirdest and wackiest design developments i can POSSIBLY think of... Where do i go for my inspiration? Back in time of course! Talking about going back in time, while playing a game of Chinese whispers, my friend told me that Marc Jacobs is releasing a collection of their greatest design made since the design house started way back in 2001. It's like releasing a Greatest Hits album! *luurvee* The new line can be expected in spring next year.
But I wonder what all he could put in the capsule collection? Oh and here are some old pictures of  Marc by Marc Jacobs shows *gasp*

Michael Jackson... The legend... Now honored by the Fashion World! Vogue, UK reports that The Jackson 5 will soon release their own fashion line called the J5. They will pay tribute to the "iconic stage costumes" of their late brother, Michael Jackson. Personally I cant wait for the replica of the jacket he wore in the thriller video! *passes out*
Jackie Jackson told WWD,
"I didn't really think of them as tributes to Michael in the beginning, but that's what they are. They represent everything he stood for and everything he's done in this industry, 100 per cent."
Fashion houses like Balmain and Givenchy have paid tribute to MJ in the past. How different will the new "authentic" (as I would call it) collection be? Well, I sure hope it turns out to be a "THRILLER"!!

The iconic crystal studded glove.

The red jacket from the Thriller song. (My fave)
The collection will soon be available here: http://www.j5collection.com/

Traditional Tales and Cut-Head Collab!

I got up this morning to see Priyanka Chopra on my doorstep wearing a Marc Jacobs… On the November Issue of vogue… As I settled in on my comfy chair with  my coffee, I almost spilt it… I CANNOT STAND that ugly nose job… Or lip job (Honestly, I cant even make out)… But though I hate to admit it, she is one of the few well dressed celebs in the country who CAN carry off whatever their stylists hand them!
Talking about Marc Jacobs... I died looking at the Vintage Sari Re-inventions… It’s so vibrant and *gasp* the styling is bang on! (The monogram tube dress is my fav *hearts*). It is contemporary and by the looks of the design I would know it’s an LV… It’s SO Marc! LV literally celebrated Diwali with all Indians world wide with this capsule collection… Apparently, the fashion luxe brand chose Rajeev Sethi who is the:
"first Asian artist chosen by Louis Vuitton to create special window installations across the globe as part of an on-going creative exchange, positioning traditional practices of skilled communities of India – on an international platform."
Vuitton promised "nothing but pure originality and cultural richness." And well, they have kept their word.
Talking about word, a little birdie told me about the Lanvin + H&M colab… (I know I'm a little late about this one!) Pretty dope if I  may say so.

"With asymmetric necklines, ruffles and super-flattering, feminine silhouettes, the collection will carry all of Lanvin's signature trademarks with a pleasing H&M price tag", says Vogue UK.
I have officially died and gone to fashion heaven! Fierce!
