A New Beginning: Time to let it go!

2010 wasn't exactly my favorite year. It was one of my worst times ever! I had my first ever heart break. I loved the man very much but it's safe to say that he SOOOOO wasn't worth all the trouble. My close friend Meggna was involved in a car accident. And a few of my toughest decisions were made which ultimately proved disastrous!

The only comfort I had was work, my family and Gaga! :)
So here's to a new beginning!

This post involves some of my favorite designers work/inspirational people in 2010. I sketched and edited them myself. They are basically stylized figures. A few of you may find it disturbing, but I guess it's the only way I can get rid of the ghosts from my past. I hope all the negativity of 2010 does not follow me any longer.

VIKTOR AND ROLF

I love art. In every form and way. And V&R made a huge impact on me. This is one of my favourites from their Spring/Summer 2010. What a concept!! I wish I could get into their brain and just see where all this comes from. It is by far one of the best shows I've seen. I have great respect for the duo.. I respect anyone who is a patron of art... :)

GARETH PUGH

I've been following the Brit fashion designer's works since the 2006 London Fashion Week. I would say: Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Viv Westwood... HE'S IN THE LEAGUE OF THESE GREAT THINKERS. He's the reason why I want to apply for Postgrads at Central Saint Martins. I remember sitting in front of the television and watching in awe, as this piece of art, strutted down a runway in Fall 2006. It looked like one of those poodles you make out of balloons. It was black. Dark. Just like Pugh is. Oozing with rebellious ideas.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

I woke up on 11th February 2010 and heard the most horrible thing. He died. The reason for all my creativity. He  inspired me to such an extent that I knew I had to realise my dreams at any cost. I wanted to be just like him. No one can replace him.  No one else could combine drama and elegance the way he did.

VALENTINO

I was watching the Fall 2010 Couture show on television... Nice soft feminine... Cute... FLOWY.. and then BOOM! Structure-Structure-Structure!! At that moment I realised that may be Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli aren't doing that bad a job as I thought... I still love Valentino... and everything connected to it. :)

LADY GAGA

Straight from the Haus of Gaga... :) No one can inspire me the way she does. When I listen to her, see her pictures and videos, my creativity gets a high. It's like I'm on GagaHash! She leaves me speechless. <3

Kate Middleton's Bride Brigade!

Now, who wouldn't want this? An army of designers with their gadgets all dying to dress the bride to be in their most outstanding creations like, EVER!!
I bet she didn't see this coming!
Every designer would want THEIR creation to go down the aisle on that royal body on the most awaited HISTORIC day.
So, WWD got various designers to sketch their vision of the bride...

And here is my count down on it. The Top Ten!!:

Starting with... #10 Angela Missoni for Missoni
I like the fact that so many different fabrics are gonna be a part of the design to show the heritage and it's layers of Britain. But.. It looks too... I don't know.... Blankety (?)... LOL.

#9 Nanette Lepore Not much a fan of the dress but  like the concept which she described as:

“A patchwork lace dress reminds us all that a true princess can mend and make do!”

#8 Monique Lhuillier I Love the fact that this has such a flowy movement to it. Imagine Kate walking down the aisle with this. So Slow Mo....!!

#7 it's Frida Gianni for Gucci Simple, Classy, Elegant. Anything but in your face. Doesn't scream "HEY TAKE MY PHOTO I'M A PRINCESS!"

#6 is Prabal Gurung... I like! It's got this mod look which is so now, but at the same time it has this royal vintage feel about itself..

#5 is Lela Rose Don't ask. I just like it. It's cute, okhay?

#4 is Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel... You won't believe what he suggested, the pretty expected Victorian collar and ruffles with the unexpected twist.. Open in front with high boots...!! OHEMGEE! Love.

#3 Wera Vang for the simple reason that weddings and Vera Wang go hand in hand. (that rhymed!)

#2 Peter Copping for Nina Ricci This is just so adorable! It's so romantic and Feathery.... I can so imagine Kate Middleton in this...

#1 Wait for it... Wait for it... Valentino!! Yes I'm going to be a little biased towards Valentino... And I'm sure Kate will agree... I mean I would wear this on my wedding! <3 

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli said,

"We designed a "blossoming" dress because we imagined her as a new Botticellian Venus."

Valentino for Gap *dies a gazillion times!!*

I wish!! I wish!! I wishhhh!!
Even if it meant sleeping outside the Milan store all night, I wish I could go in before every one and pick up all the pieces!! Valentino's Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have created a capsule collection for Gap to inaugurate it's first flagship store in Italy...
Talk about getting high-end at high street!

American Sportswear at it's best... Typical Valentino ruffles and bows...infact, excess of it, on khaki cargo pants keeping up with the military trend of the season... with the classic t shirt... heavy jackets with dramatic frills...And utilitarian? YES!

I WANT IT ALL!!

It's like all of Valentino's elements in a seven piece collection.
