When you are in a Tarun Tahiliani show, come with no expectation but one: Expect it to be like a huge wedding!
'New Democrazy" as the collection is befittingly titled, fulfilled it's promise of "the bigger and better". Around 50 looks, all with longer lengths, fuller silhouettes with all the heavy pleating and gathers, layered Nehru jackets and the Umrao Jaan inspired corset kurta-churidar. Soon after the models wearing the western outfits walked the ramp, the bridal ensembles were executed in all its richness. The velvet corsets the paneled lehengas worn with kurtis. And ofcourse- The turban in all it's glory! It was a show to die for!
Chitrangada Singh strutted down wearing a silk sari, but it was Shilpa Shetty (Tahiliani's muse) who stole the show with a heavy pleated lehenga and an embroidered bodice. (DIES!)
